It's me

I am a watercolorist.

For some people, the word watercolor is associated with children’s painting. But I know that great art began with watercolor.

Watercolor was the first kind of paint humanity held in its hands.

Ochre, mixed with water for the first cave paintings, was watercolor.

The colors used by the ancient Egyptians on papyrus were watercolors.

The illustrations that medieval monks and scribes used to decorate manuscripts were watercolors.

Oil, printmaking, and many other techniques came later. In the beginning, there was watercolor.

The art of painting began with watercolor. And if it ever ends, it will end with watercolor too.

Watercolor will be the last to die, because it is simple and unpretentious. Wherever there is water and any natural pigment, there can be watercolor.

Watercolor is the most accessible form of painting. And my mission is to make it even more accessible.

I created this site to flood the world with good, affordable, high-quality watercolor art.

This is the least I can do to make the world a better place.
