My Biography
The beginning
The atmosphere of painting has surrounded me since my earliest childhood. My father was an artist, and he taught me a great deal. I sometimes think I learned to hold a brush before I learned to hold a spoon or a fork. I grew up among paintings. The walls and even the ceiling of my room were hand-painted by my father.
At school, art lessons bored me. The assignments that took other children so much effort came easily and quickly to me, because I had known all of it almost from the cradle.
But painting was not my only passion. I was also deeply drawn to medicine.
As it happened, after school, I passed the entrance exams for medical college and, at the same time, successfully completed the art school's creative competition. That was when I realized I would not be able to devote myself seriously to both.
After much thought, I chose medicine.

I returned to painting many years later, when I was already living in Cyprus. And I discovered that, during those years, everything had changed dramatically. Watercolor had developed enormously as a technique. New types of paints had appeared, new papers that did not exist in my childhood, an incredible variety of tools, and entirely new approaches to watercolor painting.
My earlier skills and experience proved valuable, but there was also a great deal I had to learn all over again. When people ask me what kind of art education I have, I sometimes answer, half-jokingly: “a medieval one.” But in truth, I mean it seriously.
Medieval students traveled from city to city and from country to country, moving from one great teacher to another, gathering precious fragments of knowledge from each. In much the same way, for several years, I attended masterclasses and took lessons from some of the finest contemporary watercolor artists. More than a hundred lessons, dozens of masters, and from each of them, I received a small but immensely valuable piece of knowledge.
And all of this has borne fruit.

If you are visiting this website now, perhaps it is because you saw my name in an exhibition catalog or scanned a QR code at an exhibition. Today, my paintings are shown in many exhibitions and are held in numerous private collections.
And, of course, I have no intention of standing still. Movement is life — and there is still so much for me to create, so much to learn, and so much to achieve.
